Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground lamb or beef
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- Hummus for serving
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef with the onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper until well incorporated.
- Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat your grill or a heavy-duty grill pan to medium heat.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 15 minutes before use to prevent burning.
- Shape the meat mixture firmly around each skewer into long, uniform sausages.
- Brush the skewers lightly with olive oil.
- Place on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
- Serve hot alongside sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, and hummus.
Notes
- Ensure the grated onion is squeezed of excess liquid before adding to the meat to prevent the mixture from becoming too loose.
- If you prefer, regular ground beef can be used instead of lamb.
